The 10 Step CBM Moving Process Step 1: Call College Bound Movers, Inc. for a free estimate. If you have a smaller home, maybe an apartment or a condo, the estimate can be done over the phone. However, if you have a larger home or a business that needs to be moved, an in-home estimate will be scheduled. A CBM move coordinator will come out to your house and evaluate what needs to be moved. This service is also free. At the end of the phone or in-home assessment, an estimated cost will be provided, and all other services that CBM offers will be described. Step 2: Book your move with College Bound Movers, Inc. You are not required to book your move at the time of the estimate. If you do, that's one less step you'll have to take. You can also take some time to digest the information your move coordinator gave you during the estimate process. When you've determined this is the best way for you to move, call us back. We will have your estimate on file. Step 3: Confirming your move with College Bound Movers, Inc. At any point after receiving an estimate, you can call CBM if you have questions or concerns. A good starting point for getting answers is our Frequently Asked Questions, but we can answer whatever questions you have. Seventy-two hours prior to your move day, your move coordinator will call to confirm the move, as well as provide you with a window of arrival. He or she will also answer any last questions you have or add any additional items that need to be moved to the inventory. Step 4: College Bound Movers, Inc. arrives on moving day! The crew of movers, led by a Crew Chief, will arrive within the designated time frame or window. The Crew Chief will introduce himself and the members of his crew. Step 5: You and the Movers do a walk-through of the house. The movers will need you to point out every item that is being moved. They will have the inventory that you gave during your estimate, but it will be beneficial to you and the movers if they know the exact pieces and items that you need moved. Step 6: The Crew Chief explains the billing process and has you sign paperwork. The Crew Chief will have you sign several documents at the beginning of the move. These include the Terms & Conditions, a valuation release and the applicable waivers. Other waivers may need to be signed throughout the day, but you are only signing the ones that apply at that time. If you have any questions about how the bill will be determined or what you are signing (the Crew Chief will explain things to you), ask them BEFORE you sign the paperwork. Step 7: The Crew Chief inspects the furniture and completes the Damage Checklist. The Damage Checklist will list the items being moved and detail any preexisting damage that is on the piece before the movers touch it. You will be asked to sign each page of the list when it is completed. Step 8: The movers prepare your furniture and items to be moved. The movers will pack up any loose odds and ends, as well as shrink wrap and pad your furniture, walls and stair railings to prevent any possible damages. Step 9: The movers load and unload your belongings. After all of the preparations and paperwork, the movers relocate your home from the first location to the new one. Step 10: Relax and enjoy your new surroundings! |
