Edward Smith, a college bound 19 year old, saw an opportunity to join and improve the moving industry. The stigma surrounding moving companies is one of carelessness and recklessness. Knowing this, Smith formed a company that revolved around professionalism and customer service, ensuring his customers that their moves would be as stress-free and efficient as possible.
What started with one entrepreneur and a rental truck in his parents' mudroom in Merrimack, N.H. has grown exponentially each year. Headquartered in Amherst, N.H., the business has branched out to Pembroke, Billerica, Mass. and Ormond Beach, Fla. Instead of the one rental truck, CBM now owns a fleet of 15 trucks, and has grown from one employee to nearly 100.
